Healthy March

It seems like the time just flies by now and when I look back on it all in my head it is in one big massive meshed day. This month seemed to be geared toward better well being and having a healthier environment. May or may not have been spawned from Eric getting a really bad cold which turned into a stomach thing. I read a lot about way to stay healthier and keep you home environment a healthier place to live.

While Eric was sick I tried some new things while playing nurse. I put him in a detox bath (a hot bath with 5-6 Green tea bags in it) while having him chug water and Gatorade. I cooked a lot of fish based meals and whole grain pasta, tons of vegetables and oatmeal. Disregard the fact that every Saturday this month we have made French Toast for Breakfast :).

We bought all stainless steel pots and pans to change from our non-stick coated crap which I read can cause cancer! I have been making my own salad dressing instead of buying the store brand stuff which has a ridiculous amount of sugar and sodium. I already make my own body wash which Eric & I both use. I have changed packaging his breakfasts and lunches for work from Tupperware to reusing old glass jars to put them in. I read heating up food in Tupperware is also another thing that can cause cancer. Small changes hopefully will help us overall! I still want to make my own deodorant and makeup so not to put chemicals and Parabens on my skin.

It seems like everywhere I look from the news to just everyday life in public people are mean to each other and things are always going to be out there hurting us. Whether it directly or chemicals in our foods and water slowly hurting our cells. It's kind of ridiculous to at least TRY not to avoid them and do yourself and your future a favor. You live and you learn.

Fear or Excitement?

Eric just called and said he booked our vacation! I have been thinking about the whole thing for weeks now and have been possibly even feeling excited? Then he calls and says its booked and set and my stomach feel nervous as hell! Is that excitement? Or fear?

My whole like everything is something else to get nervous about...hell I get fucking nervous going to get my hair cut! I get nervous taking my truck in for an oil change. WHY because I fabricate in my min worse case scenarios. Hair cut: she is going to tell me how damaged it is and I am going to be the most frumpy looking thing in the salon, she is going to cut it too short or I'll hate it when it's done and freak out, etc. Oil Change: They are going to tell me a laundry list of things else wrong with my car and it will cost ungodly amounts and I'll panic. Vacation: what if our plane crashes, or something happens to us and we can't go and we out the money, what if we are so broke it will kill us to go, what if something happens while we are away, what if our luggage gets lost, what if our house gets broken into while we are gone......as my mom would say "don't what if it to death" but what if I don't what if it and I am not prepared for something. UGH.

So vacation is booked....learn to be excited damnit! or convince yourself that feeling in your stomach is excitement!

Product Review: Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask #Powerofplants

I received this product compliments of Influenster.com / @Influenster and their Valentine's Theme Vox Box #Jadorevoxbox. I am always super weird about trying new facial products because my skin is super sensitive and pigmentally challenged  so any little thing that make my skin turn bright red or break out. I was open to trying this product especially because it says it is made of oceanic materials and plant extracts. My skin loves nothing more then products that are naturally derived! So on a night when Hubs was in the studio (so not to scare him :) ) I took a hot shower  and had aromatherapy candles burning in the bathroom and cleaned my face, as I got out I put the mask on my skin and left it for 10 minutes.

While it was on it felt really calming and soothing I am not sure if that was in my head or not. Or if it was because I had just taken a hot shower and the bottle with product was cooler then my body temperature, but regardless it felt nice & relaxing! I set my timer on my phone and after ten minutes I rinse my face gently with warm water and was so RELIEVED my skin didn't get bright red or freak out haha. My skin tone was even, my skin felt super soft and supple. It also felt like it had a deep cleaning, so fresh and pure. I am defenitly a fan of this product! I will definitely use it on a regular basis (weekly per directions) and am REALLY interested in learning more about other Boots Botanics products, I think I finally found a naturally derived and moderately priced product for my finicky skin! Thanks @Bootsbeautyusa #Powerofplants & @Influenster #Jadorevoxbox
